150 year old Homestead Reno!

We've been fortunate to land two jobs at Joadja Distillery in the NSW Southern Highlands, an 1870’s abandoned kerosene mining village. The project includes the installation of one of our Loft Tiny Homes "Moana" as well as the complete restoration of a derelict homestead built around 1850.

Joadja was a thriving mining town between 1870–1911 and home to around 1,200 people. The town existed to mine oil shale from which kerosene was extracted by the Australian Kerosene Oil and Mineral Co. By 1911, the town had become deserted and was auctioned off that year to a private buyer.

The remains of the town were added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register in 1999.
